My existing chimney needs to be relined. An old ill fitting gas fire then needs to be removed. A new gas fire suitable for the size of grate and chimney must then be supplied and installed, and it MUST be easy to use for an older person.
One and a half storey house in Weardale. Remove existing single Velux windows (one in each bedroom), resize window space and fit new twin vertical combination Velux (four panes in total per room). Checked and no planning permission required, building control structural survey completed and confirms okay to do.
One corner of the flat roof has been blown away in bad weather. It has torn one of the strips which will need replacing along with beading that keeps it held down around the edges.
I have garden decking that was layed 3 years ago, and the decking boards were pressure treated. About 18 months ago I had it stained with Cuprinol protective decking stain and it has since started to peel off. I contacted Cuprinol customer service who advised that it could be the extreme winter conditions we had, and advised decking oil would be better to use. However I require the decking to be sanded down to it's original state and then re-treated
To fit a new shower cubicle and tray and retile the area. May need towel rail moved.
You need to remove the grass and prepare surface for the tarmac/asphalt. All edges need to be laid with blocks around. Total area 64 square meters.
Need an experienced builder to re point 70-80m² of 1930 red brick house. We are in Carlisle Cumbria, please let me know what mortar mix you intend to use and depth of raking out you plan. Brickwork in good condition, 2/3 of pointing falling out the remaining 1/3 may be a bit more stuburn. I also have a post on here to lay 1000 4" blocks
We're in a smokeless area so need to choose a wood burner that would be applicable for this. Currently we have plasterboard and thin plaster where the previous homeowners blocked up the fireplace. Sounds completely hollow behind so this would need to be opened up. Please quote for this, the unit and lining the chimney as our house was built in 1910 and would probably leak smoke otherwise! Also it obviously needs to be sealed in tight so it's not draughty where the flu enters the chimney. Re-plastering the chimney breast is not necessary. The outside can look awful as we're on the verge of re-decorating. Thanks! Our parents and other friends have recently had this done so we know what would be a reasonable quote, We're just in a different area. Check out our other advertised jobs in case you can help!
I live in a Victorian semi-detached house with a shared chimney between myself and my neighbour. The brickwork on the external chimney stack under the chimney pots has a crack running downwards (about 4/5 brick layers). It looks like the two pots are gradually pulling apart from each other. The top section of the brickwork will need to be relaid and pots put back into place. Our chimney is not used and next door sometimes have an open fire so, it has recently been used. This is a joint job with my neighbour and I therefore need quotes in duplicate. I would also like one quote to include scaffolding cost and one quote without scaffolding cost. Scaffolding will definitely be needed however we may source it seperately. I hope that is ok. Many thanks.
The fireplace seem as if it needs to be re-embedded, there are signs of cracks or movement.
