Remove existing, supply and fit 26l/m zinc/galvanised ridge to traditional slate roof. I own a property in Kinlochard; during the recent severe winds the metal ridge on my property has been damaged. The slate roof covering itself is still in a sound condition. I am looking at replacing the existing damaged ridge with new - the ridge is 26 l/m in length and would like a quote for labour and materials required to do the job. Thanks
I need my roof repaired as it has a leak where the down pipe is about two yards on the flat roof. I will also need you to look at damp on the wall.
I've had a homebuyers report carried out on a property I've had an offer accepted on. The following issues have arisen from the report which need repairing. I'm looking for quotes which I can discuss with the estate agents and vendor. The following has been taken directly from the report. Chimney Stacks The chimney stack is built of brick The mortar between the bricks (called pointing) has eroded. This should be repaired soon. Although the chimney pot looks satisfactory, it can be damaged when the flaunching is repaired and the pot may need to be replaced as well. The waterproofing between the chimney stack and the roof covering (called the flashing) is loose. The roof covering and chimney stack may have to be disturbed to repair the flashing and this can increase the amount of the work. Roof coverings The main roof is covered with concrete interlocking tiles over a secondary waterproof barrier (roofing felt). The lower course of tiles has dropped and requires reseting. The roofing felt has decayed at eaves level and requires reinstatement. The tiles along the top of the roof (the ridge tiles) are loose. Small numbers of ridge tiles can be repaired but the work may dislodge or damage adjacent tiles. It may be economic to replace or refix all the other ridge/hip tiles at the same time. The pointing along the edge of the roof (called the verge) are cracked and appears to be supported on asbestos cement sheeting. Remedial work is required. Adjacent parts of the roof covering may have to be disturbed to repair the verge tiles and this can increase the amount of repair work. Rainwater pipes & gutters The rainwater pipes and gutters are made of plastic. These are heavily silted and distorted They require overhaul and cleaning out ensuring the gutters discharge to the outlets and that all joints are watertight. Main walls The outside walls are built of brick and blockwork with an air gap between the inside and outside faces (called a cavity wall). The outer faces of the wall are brick faced with a tile clad panel to the front elevation. Where visible, the walls have a barrier against dampness rising from the ground (called a dampproof course or DPC) consisting of a modern PVC strip. Extensive patch repointing is required to all elevations. There is evidence of slight differential movement around the end of some lintels. These open joints require repointing. Other joinery & finishes The property appears to have timber gutter boards and asbestos soffits. These are deteriorating and remedial work is required. Any work to the soffits must be undertaken by as specialist contractor. Roof structure The roof structure is built of preformed timber trusses. The roof space has fibre glass thermal insulation on the top of the ceiling/between the sloping roof timbers. Additional diagonal and cross bracing is required. Openings to party wall require filling. Additional through ventilation must be provided. Central heating header tank requires lagging. Fireplaces, chimney breasts and flues The fire place in the living room has been sealed without ventilation. Permanent ventilation must be provided. I would be grateful for a quote on as much as the above as possible please.

I need to replace the guttering on my outhouse which is approx the size of 4 garages side by side and approx 12 feet wide. The guttering is screwed straight into the wall no fascias. All the materials will need to be new except the one downpipe which is in keeping with the property. Also the roof needs a refurb. Get rid of growth, straighten tiles, repointing etc.
General Roofing Work in GL54 Stow on the Wold
Results from a recent house survey were: "The mortar of the roofing needs re-doing and the roof needs re-pointing " Also "Roof perimeter timbers are not in good condition. They are showing some rot and décor is generally poor" We need to remedy both points. So, re-doing of motar, re-pointing, and replacing roof perimeter timbers. The house itself is a detached, 2 story, built in 1985.
There is a damp patch on the top of the chimney breast in my lounge. The roof has a few tiles missing, but have been told the flashing probably needs replacing.
