Job Description:
We are writing in response to our site inspection on the 17 September 2016 in regards to the boundary wall damage. The property was originally built between 1866-7, it has since been converted into a series of flats. The boundary wall, the part that we are focusing on, is approximately 3-4m away from the building. It is a dwarf brick wall about 215mm thick with a metal fence with steel posts every 3.8m on top of the wall. The structure (wall) is in a bad condition. This is a list of the problems and the upcoming work that needs to be done: The wall is badly damaged with cracks forming on the horizontal and vertical bed joints. The cracks start from the entrance gate and are consistently present up to the tree The exterior concrete pavement and the wall brickwork have been slightly uplifted by tree roots. The steel posts on top of the wall have also been uplifted and are loose but are being held in place by the existing steel racking. The removal of existing non-loadbearing blockwork wall between kitchen and the redundant chute. The chute hole will be filled with concrete and the new space formed will be a new bathroom. Work to be doneThe metal fence on top of the wall needs to be removed so the cracked wall can be demolished. The wall is to be rebuilt with new bricks to match the existing brickwork using 1:1:6 masonry mortar.The steel fence posts to be reinstalled, however with its own concrete pad under the fence post making it independent of the brick work. The brickwork would then be built around it to form what would look like a pillar. In addition, I believe it is necessary to apply for permission from the council for the tree(s) to be pruned every three years in
